The Kingston Potters’ Guild, one of the oldest pottery guilds in the province of Ontario, is a not-for-profit organization serving the Kingston community. The new site was designed and built using the open-source WordPress content management system, allowing Guild members to manage the site independently. The new website is accessible and mobile-responsive – and features a private Members portal, blog and integration with remote event registration and calendar systems.

The ReFrame Film Festival is an annual 4-day film festival that takes place near the end of January in Peterborough, Ontario (Nogojiwanong) celebrating film and art with a focus on the environment, human rights and social justice. Black Cap Design worked with the talented design team at ReFrame to rebuild the site using the WordPress CMS allowing staff and volunteers to manage the site independently.

Cymbolik Productions is operated by Scott Milligen, an accomplished drummer and composer based in Toronto, Ontario. The Cymbolik site highlights Scott’s extensive music catalog that lends itself to soundtracks for TV Shows, Films, Documentaries and Computer Games. The Cymbolik website was designed and built using the open source WordPress content management system. The mobile-responsive site works in conjunction with SoundCloud to allow visitors to listen to a selection of Scott’s compositions, and includes an accessible contact form with spam filtering.

Anne-Marie Koranchuk is a realist figurative painter, living and working in Lakefield, Ontario. Anne-Marie’s website was redesigned and rebuilt using the open source WordPress Content Management System. The new mobile friendly site features an intuitive and easy-to-manage image gallery, flexible multi-column layout, and search friendly show/hide content accordions to manage large chunks of written content. And because it’s WordPress, the site and content can be managed independently with support from Black Cap Design.

Rob Niezen is a contemporary painter based in Indian River, Ontario, Canada. Rob’s work is in private and corporate collections in Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the USA. Rob’s site was completely rebuilt in 2017 using WordPress CMS software. We set up the platform with security enhancements, and a customizable theme and Rob did the bulk of the design himself using the WordPress customizer. Rob is able to manage his new mobile-friendly website independently with occasional support from Black Cap Design.

Anne Cavanagh is a professional artist and illustrator, and avid member of the arts community in Peterborough, Ontario where her studio is located. Anne’s site was rebuilt using the WordPress CMS platform. She completed Black Cap Design’s customized WordPress training and received a written how-to document so she can now update the content and image gallery on her site independently. Anne’s Studio also includes a newsletter sign-up form and social media links for Facebook and Twitter.
